How do I start foreign exchange? ›

If you're traveling abroad, you can usually get the best rates if you plan ahead. Look to online currency brokers such as Travelex, Eurochange, the Currency Online Group, or TravelFX, which provide home delivery. They are likely to have better rates than your home bank.

When you exchange foreign currency through your bank or any money changer, you are required to provide them with you KYC (Know Your Customer) documentation. RBI has instructed all banking institutions and authorised money changers to ensure the customer's identity and address proof.

You can make a payment with Visa Debit, Visa Credit, Mastercard Debit and Mastercard Credit cards. Your card issuer may also charge you international transaction fee if you are using foreign issued card in Australia.

Like most bank accounts, you can withdraw money from your travel money card at ATMs worldwide. The maximum withdrawal amount is 500.00 GBP within a 24-hour period. Please bear in mind Travelex does not charge ATM fees but some operators may do so, check before you withdraw cash.

Travelex has better online rates than your bank so you can lock in a good initial loading rate and save. Plus they don't charge you ATM fees while you're overseas. Unfortunately, all of these conveniences comes with a high price tag.

How will my order be sent and is it secure? Your order will be sent using secure Royal Mail Special Delivery and will require a signature upon delivery. Travelex Money cards are sent separately by First Class post and you will need to call us on the number provided with the card to activate it.
