Find out what you'll need to have handy before you apply for an everyday bank account, savings account or term deposit.
Personal details
Whether you're a new or an existing customer, you may need to provide us with your:
- Name, date of birth, address and contact details (plus those of any additional account holders)
- Tax File Number (this will ensure you don’t pay withholding tax on the account)
- Country (or countries) of residence and, if applicable, your tax identification number
- Linked account details (if you’re applying for an Easy Saver, Smart eSaver or Bankwest Term Deposit)
- Your Qantas Frequent Flyer number (if you’re applying for a Bankwest Qantas transaction account).

If you're already a customer, you can skip this step.
If you’re a new customer, we’ll need to verify your identity. You can confirm your identity:
- onlineby using ourelectronic ID check
- in person at a participating Australia Post outlet with a completed Transaction and Savings Accounts Identity Verification Form (PDF).
