Viewing an anonymous survey's responses

If you tick the Keep Submissions Anonymous box, then you will not know which answers each student has marked or written. However, if you choose a Graded Survey, then you will know which students have completed the survey as those you did it will be awarded points in the gradebook.

To download a report, click on the Student Analysis button. This will download a CSV file of all responses to your computer.

Viewing an anonymous survey's responses

If you want to view detailed responses to your survey, just click (2) the Student Analysis button at the top of the Quiz Summary page. A spreadsheet of all survey responses will download as a . csv file.

Through the Quiz Log function, the system will detect when the person taking the online test opens a new tab or browser, recording and reporting any suspicious action. Canvas can also avert cheating by locking the browser during the exam. Canvas tracks the time spent by the student on each question.

Professors often want to hide grades from their students while they are working on grading them. Canvas allows the professors the ability to do this and more. Whether using the “Classic”, or “New” quiz tool, professors can control the dissemination of the students' grades until they are ready.

Canvas Grades highlights assignment statuses with a default set of five different colors; understanding the colors can help you quickly scan the Grades to identify students with a specific status. Blue: Late submission. Red: Missing submission. Green: Resubmitted assignment or quiz. Orange: Dropped grade.

Can I make surveys in Canvas? Yes. To create a survey, go to the Quizzes menu item and create a quiz. In the Quiz Type section, you can make the quiz a graded or ungraded survey.

Canvas provides you with Quiz Statistics, which includes score data, standard deviation, and the average time of quiz completion. Additionally, Quiz Statistics displays a breakdown for each question in the quiz. To view the Quiz Statistics, open a quiz and click Quiz Statistics. Average time.

To use this feature in Canvas, you must first enable it in your subject settings, and then within the individual assignment.

While Canvas cannot lock down a student browser or computer, it can track if students leave a page. By turning on Quiz Log Auditing, you can review individual student start times, end times, and when they exit the Canvas quiz.

Discussions in Canvas can be set to be anonymous to allow students to hide their names and profile pictures. Note: a discussion must be created from the Discussions page to be able to edit the Anonymous settings.
