Blessings are declarations spoken by a spiritual authority over the life or lives of individual(s), and the words of the blessing can carry the power to impact the life or lives of the person(s) over whom they have been spoken. A prophetic blessing that is spoken over the lives of your children and grandchildren puts them on the path to a higher level of accomplishment, creating spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational prosperity. When God created Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, the first thing He did for this first marriage in recorded history was to bless it. Genesis 1:28: And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” This theme continues in the Scripture as God blessed Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and His prophets. At times, Jesus paused from teaching to bless children, Mark 10:16: “And He took them in His arms and blessed them, laying His hands on them.” What did He say? He would have said what rabbis and Jewish fathers have been saying for thousands of years, Numbers 6:22-26: Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, In this way you shall bless the sons of Israel.” You are to say to them: “The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord cause His face to shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His face to you, And give you peace.” Then Jesus, as a spiritual authority, spoke into existence the future for the children. Unlike the priestly blessing, this prophetic blessing is unique to every person communicating it, as well as to the one receiving it. If Jesus took time to bless the children, why don’t we? Before Jesus’ ascent, He blessed His disciples, Luke 24:50-51: “And He led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up His hands He blessed them. While He blessed them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.” The blessing belongs to God; the words can never be altered in any way as declared, as told in Proverbs 30:5-6: “Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you and you be found a liar.” The priestly blessing was not just for Moses, Aaron, and the elite members of the tribe of Levi. No, it was intended for every person on earth. God bestows His favor on His creation, man. This is the purest expression of His mercy and grace. When God blesses man, it is to bestow good health, abundant success, and prosperity, both materially and spiritually. When man blesses God, it is presented in the forms of thanksgiving, reverence, obedience, praise, and worship. Have faith that He will lend His power and authority to fulfill the blessing over your family in agreement with His Word. Live in accordance with your prophetic proclamation and let God act on your behalf.
