The Commonwealth of Virginia does not authorize the transfer of title to real estate upon payment of delinquent taxes (tax lien sales). The City of Chesapeake does conduct judicial sales of property through public auctions for nonpayment of taxes in accordance with Code of Virginia Section 58.1-3965 et seq. Information on any upcoming sales, if scheduled, will be posted below.
