Smilers are entities found in The Backrooms. They are hostile creatures which reside in dark places of various levels. They are identified by their illuminated smiles in the dark.
They have appeared in numerous amounts of backrooms related media from video games, found footage, ETC.
Not much is known about smilers due to their unknown past, biology, and why they hunt wanderers.
Biology[]
Smilers have a bright white smile with two glowing eyes. It is unknown if a smiler has a body as it hides in the dark and disappears when exposed in full light, though it is theorized to have one. They often appear in doorways and dark halls.
They can appear in many different levels. Some examples being Level 2, 3, and The blackout. They may also chase a wanderer in Level!.
Smilers will attack any wanderer in sight, but are attracted to light similar to moths. They can be distracted by throwing any source of light at them and quickly getting away. The wander can also use a bottle of Smile exterminator to get one away from them.
