There are several ways to clear disk space or free up space on your computer. Methods include deleting files from the recycle bin, clearing duplicate or temporary files (for example, from your downloads folder), or performing a disk cleanup.
Another efficient way to free up space on your computer’s hard drive is by storing files you don’t access often in the cloud. With Dropbox, you can move the files and folders you’re not currently using to dropbox.com by making them “online-only”. This way, you can free up disk space on your hard drive and save storage space on your computer. You can also use our selective sync feature to choose which folders sync and which are stored on your computer.
The Dropbox not enough space on device error occurs when you use up your device's space. You can fix it by blocking Dropbox files offline, clearing the program cache, deleting files on devices, and enabling the features of the Dropbox client, such as selective sync or Smart Sync, to solve it.

Make another Dropbox account and share folders with it
Simply create a second Dropbox account, and share a few folders over to that new account. You now have three more devices worth of syncing to play with. It's not ideal, sure, but it works if you just need to sync a few folders over to a couple of extra devices.

All files uploaded to your Dropbox account must be smaller than the amount of storage space you have. For example, if your account has a storage quota of 2 GB, you can upload one 2 GB file or many files that add up to 2 GB. If you're over your storage quota, Dropbox will stop syncing.
For example, you have a 2 GB Dropbox account, but only have 1 GB of available space. If someone shares a 3 GB folder with you, you won't be able to accept that invite. You'll either have to earn more space, upgrade your account, or ask the person sharing to reduce the size of the folder.
When you set a file to online-only, it's stored online and won't take up storage space on your computer or mobile device. Online-only files take up storage space on dropbox.com.
Invite friends to Dropbox to earn more space for your account. If a friend signs up with the referral link in your invite, you'll earn free storage space.
There are some common reasons, such as the Dropbox program is stuck with storage updates since you deleted too many files on time, or your application is not up-to-date. If you join someone else's shared folder, you should also check if these shared folders occupy your storage space.
