Online Learning – Peel eLearning/OeLC - Peel Virtual Secondary School (1)

As a member of the Ontario eLearning Consortium (OeLC), Peel eLearning/OeLC is a program that offers asynchronous online learning to PDSB secondary students.

The partnership with the OeLC provides diverse learners equitable access to a wider variety of courses taught by Ontario Certified Teachers from PDSB and across the province, that meet their interests, needs, and post-secondary pathway of choice.

Peel eLearning educators are committed to fostering an inclusive virtual learning environment that provides opportunities for students to explore their interests while developing critical digital skills and global competencies. Peel eLearning students are empowered to embrace their lived experiences, share their voices, and consider diverse perspectives. Other benefitsinclude:

  • enhanced time management skills
  • independent learning opportunities
  • access to learning through an asynchronous environment that allows students to balance schoolwork and other commitments

Students enrolled in eLearning are expected to complete regular individual and group assignments, and contribute frequently to online discussions. A variety of assessment and evaluation tools are used to gather evidence of learning and providefeedback.

All eLearning courses through the OeLC count toward the 30 credits and meet the eLearning requirements for graduation with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). They are also accepted equally to all other course types by Ontario universities and colleges for admission purposes.

MCR3U was a very informative and helpful course to take.
