The move by Advantage Solutions, a marketing firm, was announced on Tuesday morning and will become official in the first quarter of 2024. The new location in St. Louis, Missouri, will allow the firm to reach a larger array of clients and serve them more effectively, the company announced in a statement.
“St. Louis is one of the great cities in the U.S., boasting top universities, a diverse talent pool, affordable living, and a central location that will foster more frequent, in-person connections with our teammates and our brand and retail clients,” Advantage Solutions CEO Dave Peaco*ck said. “We’re excited to tap into St. Louis’ deep talent pool to fuel our purpose of connecting people with products and experiences that enrich their lives.”
Advantage Solutions was founded in 1987 in Californiaand uses its business to help retailers advertise their products to customers. The firm intends to keep its office in Irvine, California, but will use it with the intent of a collaboration hub rather than a headquarters.
Beyond moving to St. Louis, the firm announced it would open a new collaboration hub in Chicago this fall.
The Advantage Solutions move is part of a growing trend of businesses opting to leave Democratic-led cities and states for other areas. Tyson Foods announced last year it would move corporate staff from offices in Chicago to Springdale, Arkansas. The move allowed Tyson to “enhance team member agility” and have “faster decision-making,” according to a press release.
Similarly, billionaire hedge fund boss Ken Griffin, a top donor to the Republican Party, announced last year he would leave Chicago and move to Miami, citing a better corporate environment.
