The LVCC Loop — a three-station transportation system consisting of 1.7 miles of tunnel — was built in approximately one year, using the now-legacy Godot tunnel boring machine. The system's twin tunnels, two surface stations, and one subsurface station cost approximately $47 million (firm-fixed price). Tunneling occurred during conventions with over 100,00 attendees and posed zero disruptions or roadclosures.
LVCC Loop connects the LVCC West Hall with the existing campus (North/Central/South Halls), and reduces a 45-minute cross-campus journey time to approximately two minutes.
LVCC Loop opened in April 2021 for the Mecum Motorcycle Auction and has operated at all subsequent conventions. To date, LVCC Loop has transported over 1.5 million passengers, with a demonstrated peak capacity of over 4,500 passengers per hour, and over 32,000 passengers per day.
