Since 2009,Western Australia has achieved some great success in reducing litter, with a 27% reduction in the number of items litteredand a 21% reduction in the volume of litter recorded via the National Litter Index.
To continue to positively impact on litter statistics in the long term, Keep Australia Beautiful recognises the important role of community education and awareness strategies, designed to influence the attitudes and behaviours of litterers and work in conjunction with other strategies to reduce littering.
