Question: I am 18 and still enrolled in high school, can my parents legally kick me out of the house?
Answer: Yes. Once you have turned 18 years old, you are legally an adult and your parents no longer have a legal obligation to care for you.
The converse is true as well: once you are 18, you have the legal ability to make decisions for yourself.
The only exception to this is if you were legally incapacitated in some way. For example, if you were judged by a court to be incapable of making decisions for yourself. In that (somewhat rare case) your parents could be appointed as guardians for you after the age of 18 and would still have to provide for you.

On 01/15/08 Mom from AR said: My son will turn 18 in March, and not graduate until May, Is there a way I can keep him home until he graduates. I am afraid he will move out, and get into so much trouble, and not graduate. I can barely get him to go to school everyday when I am there to make him go. I know he won't when he moves out. Everytime we give him freedom, he gets into trouble, usually big trouble.
