Who is Fergus Fraser’s real dad in Outlander?
French businessman and merchant The Comte St. Germain (Stanley Weber) is revealed to be Fergus’ father.
Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) encountered the Comte in season two when she and Jamie travelled to Paris to try and quash the Jacobite Rebellion and avert the tragic Battle of Culloden.
During their time in Paris, they came across many figures including Fergus and the Comte with Claire making an enemy of him after accidentally costing him vast sums of money.
In Diana Gabaldon’s novels, Fergus’ father is the Comte from his scandalous extramarital affair with Amelie Beauchamp.

Even after his wife died, the Comte refused to marry Amelie but not long after she disappeared.
There were rumours she was later deposited at a Parisian brothel by the Comte, hidden in a giant carpet he’d supposedly donated to the establishment.
Amelie lived at the brothel and it was there she gave birth to Fergus but she died of influenza and so he never learnt about his true parents.
However, the readers are privy to this information and it will be intriguing to see whether Fergus will ever find out about his mother and father.

In the novel An Echo in the Bone, Percy Beauchamp tells Lord John Grey (David Berry) about his suspicions regarding the Comte and his sister-in-law Amelie being lovers.
Percy goes on to share how he believes Fergus is the product of a union between the clandestine couple.
Whether season seven features a scene addressing this remains to be seen but there’s nothing stopping the writers from putting something in the show which alludes to this moment.
This piece of information would certainly add another layer to Fergus’ character and present him an entirely different light.

Additionally, the Comte was revealed to be a time traveller who had spent periods in many different eras, even going beyond his own timeline.
The Comte and Master Raymond (Dominique Pinon) seemed to be in league with one another and knew they were both time travellers.
As time travelling is passed down through DNA, Fergus could indeed be a time traveller but remain unaware of his unique ability,
Another theory is Fergus could also be related to Claire given her maiden name is the same as the former pickpocket’s mother with a matter of generations separating them.

Actor Domboy has previously confirmed he was told by fans about Fergus’ father which informed his performance.
He said in an Instagram live from earlier this year: “Yeah, it’s so nice. People told me who my dad is.
“My dad is a character and it’s a character we know that had been before in prior seasons.”
But the star also seemed to think Fergus couldn’t time travel which suggests he didn’t get the ability from the Comte.
