How to Rank Up in Master Duel
Win Duel Matches
The only way in which players can Rank Up in Duel Mode is through gaining victories in Duels against other players in the community. Although a simple task, battles in Duel Mode typically boil down to which player has the best Decks on top of their Mastery over them.
Duels can be difficult, but all rewards players with both a Rank Up as well as other Rewards related to achieving a certain Rank.
Beginner's Guide: Tips For Starting Out
Use Meta or Competitive Decks
Yu-Gi-Oh! is known for its power creeping after every next card set hits the game. This makes previously strong decks weaker or even down right irrelevant in the current meta game. Play using the strongest deck available to have an easier time to climb the ranks!

Craft Staple Cards
Even with meta decks, it will be difficult to play if you don't have staple cards like hand traps to counter enemy combos on their turn. Craft all the needed staple cards and win more games!

Inserting Deck Engines
Deck Engines are a small combination of cards that can act independently from your Deck, while still having enough synergy to match the playstyle, further boosting the Deck's strengths. There are a number of Deck Engines that can be used with different Deck kinds, so do not be surprised if they will be seen frequently during Ranked Duels.
