Genshin Impactversion 3.0 is out now! Not only have we reached a new region in Sumeru, we can now wield the power of the game's newest element: Dendro.
Dendro draws its powers from life and nature, it can be most evident with how its mechanics heavily take from the natural world. As such, Dendro heavily relies on interactions with other elements to further its damage capability.
Dendro is heavily reliant on elemental reactions, having a total of seven reactions that it can produce: Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, Quicken, Spread, Aggravate, and Burning.
With how reliant Dendro is on reactions, Travelers will need to build up a lot of Elemental Mastery on their future Dendro characters to maximise their damage potential. Doing so will allow you to enjoy the barrage of multi-coloured damage numbers that will flood your screen.
Dendro Resonance
The Dendro Resonance also plays into the element's focus on reactions. When you have two or more Dendro characters in your party, all characters will have their Elemental Mastery increased by 50, with further boosts when triggering Dendro-related reactions.
After triggering Burning, Quicken, or Bloom reactions, all nearby party members gain 30 Elemental Mastery for six seconds. Triggering Aggravate, Spread, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions will increase Elemental Mastery by 20 for six seconds.
Don't be intimidated by the sheer number of Dendro reactions, read on as we break down each one for you:
Bloom
Bloom is one of the two 'precursor' Dendro reactions, which can lead to two further reactions upon being triggered, alongside Catalyze. Bloom is triggered when you apply Hydro to a Dendro-afflicted target or vice versa, after which a Dendro Core is created.
The Dendro Core will explode by itself after five seconds, dealing Dendro DMG to all units near the explosion, including your characters. Only a certain number of Dendro Cores can exist at the same time. If new ones are created once the amount limit is reached, the Dendro Core will explode.
How the Dendro Core will explode can be changed by applying either Electro or Pyro to it.
Hyperbloom
When a Dendro Core is hit with an Electro attack, Hyperbloom is triggered. Hyperbloom makes the Dendro Core explode instantly and release a homing projectile that tracks and hits a enemy to deal Dendro DMG.
Burgeon
When a Dendro Core is hit with a Pyro attack, it triggers Burgeon, making it explode instantly and deal Dendro DMG in the area around the Dendro Core.
Catalyze
The other precursor Dendro reaction is Catalyze, which is triggered when you apply Electro to a Dendro-afflicted target or vice versa and puts it in the 'Quickened' state. A Quickened enemy will receive more damage from the next Dendro or Electro attack that hits it.
Spread
When a Quickened enemy is hit with a Dendro attack, it triggers the Spread reaction and increases the attack's Dendro DMG.
Aggravate
When a Quickened enemy is hit with an Electro attack, it triggers the Aggravate reaction and increases the attack's Electro DMG.
Burning
The last Dendro reaction is Burning, which is triggered by applying Pyro to a Dendro-afflicted target. This isn't a new reaction, as using Pyro attacks while standing in grass has been triggering Burning since the game's release.
Burning deals Pyro DMG over time in a small area, which also applies Pyro to nearby units.
Genshin Impact version 3.0 will run from 24 August to 28 September, featuring the release of Sumeru, Dendro, new characters, and a ton of other content.
Genshin Impact versions 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 will have shortened run times of five weeks instead of the usual six weeks, likely to catch up to the game's original release schedule after the release of version 2.7 was delayed back in April.
