Academic progress is when you are moving toward successful completion of the academic requirements of your study program. This occurs when you pass the units required to complete your program, within a reasonable timeframe.
The University monitors your academic performance to ensure you are moving toward successful completion of your program requirements. In the case of students in coursework programs, this includes assessing whether you have passed your courses and achieved a satisfactory Grade Point Average (GPA) for each study period. Refer to the criteria for MAP Stage 1 and Stage 2 (Monitored Enrolment) or MAP Stage 3 (considered for exclusion) in the Monitoring Academic Progress - Academic Policy and the Monitoring Academic Progress - Academic Procedures.
If your academic progress is considered to be unsatisfactory, the University will contact you with information on how to access appropriate resources and support to improve your academic performance.
In the case of Higher Degree by Research students, unsatisfactory progress is usually determined by failing to meet candidature milestones as per your approved research plan.
