Why don't eBay sellers answer questions? ›

There is nothing you can or should do. The seller either didn't receive the messages for whatever reason, or did and chose not to answer. Sellers have no obligation to answer questions, and you need to move on to another seller if that doesn't work for you.

If you don' t answer buyers questions don't expect a sale

This is a reminder for sellers who ignore buyers questions. If you dont know the answer (or don't feel like giving one for your own particular reasons), a simple I don't know or sorry cannot answer your question goes a lot further than ignoring the message(s).

The seller uses the high price to keep his listing active without actually selling any items.

In a nutshell payments are held until tracking shows delivered, or in 21 days if there's no tracking. This hold will stop after you meet the following conditions: You have 25 feedbacks for selling, it's been 90 days since your first sale and you've made $250 in sales.

Ask eBay to step in and help

If the seller hasn't responded, or hasn't provided a resolution after 3 business days, you can ask us to step in. You have up to 21 business days from when you opened the original request.

Once you open a case, the seller has 3 full business days to respond. If no response, or you cannot come to an agreement, on the fourth day, a link will appear to Ask ebay to step in.

If you cannot respond to a particular eBay message, you may be able to compose a new message by going to the user's profile or feedback page and using the "Contact" link there. If the user is no longer registered, you will not be able to send a message, however.

eBay does allow sellers to block buyers. If your messages are blocked, that also means the seller is blocking you from buying. Even when you can contact a seller, eBay cannot make the seller respond. So if you are blocked or not receiving responses when you DO send a message, move on and find another seller.
