Personality
Lapras was particularly afraid of all humans, namely because of the actions of three boys who quickly attacked her after she washed up on Tangelo Island. Ash and Lapras quickly formed a strong bond after Ash saved her from Team Rocket in The Lost Lapras. Lapras's speed was critical to Ash's success during his Orange League campaign, as she was used in many of his Gym Leader matches.
Lapras is an empathetic and reliable Pokémon who gained confidence during her time with Ash. Her more playful personality outshone her initial shyness. Lapras was hesitant to rejoinher familyinViva Las Lapras, though Ash convinced her to do so. When Lapras later appeared inJohto, she was shown to have grown more mature, eventually even taking the leadership of her herd after helping to defeat Team Rocket and save the other Lapras they had stolen.
History
Prior to Series
Lapras was once apart of Ash's team before she reunited with her family and was last seen by Ash in Johto. She served as the main transportation through the Orange Islands until her family was found on the way back to Pallet Town.
