Let’s say you need to send some payments from your Payoneer account, but your current balance doesn’t have enough funds to cover the payments. Or maybe you’re expecting some money in from a client or marketplace in the coming days, but you don’t want to wait till then to pay some bills.
Payoneer now has a solution for you. Simply add the funds you need for your cross-border payments to your Payoneer balances right from your own bank!
If you are eligible to add funds, you’ll see a link in your account home page under one or more balances that says Add funds.
To be eligible to add funds you must:
- Have signed up to Payoneer as a company
- Not be a company whose legal/incorporation address is in one of the following countries: China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore , Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, or Malaysia
- Have a receiving account, issued by Citibank, in at least one of the following currencies: USD, GBP, EUR, AUD
To add funds to your Payoneer account from your own bank, you make a bank transfer via one of your receiving accounts. You provide your bank the receiving account details and make an online transfer. Both local and international transfers are supported.
Keep the following in mind when adding funds:
- Before you can start adding funds, you may need to provide us with some additional information about your identity and business. If this is required, we’ll ask you for it the first time you request to add funds.
- Not all receiving accounts can be used to add funds. You’ll be able to see the receiving accounts available for adding funds easily in your Receiving accounts page.
- When adding funds, make sure the bank account holder name on your bank account matches the company name in your Payoneer profile.
To start adding funds, first request approval. Once you are approved, to view the receiving accounts that are available to use for adding funds either:
- Click Add funds in any of the balance boxes on your home page, and then click View currency accounts
- Click Get paid > Receiving accounts and toggle on Only accounts for adding funds
The fees that apply are the same as those charged when receiving payments via receiving accounts. You can see those fees in the receiving account guidelines for each receiving account, as well as in the Fees page in your Payoneer account.
Before you can add funds, you first need to request to do so. This process may require you to provide some additional identity and business details to be approved to use this functionality
To get started, follow these steps:
- Sign in to Payoneer.
- On your account home page, click Add funds in any of the balance boxes where it is shown. (If you don’t see an Add funds option on any of your balances, it means you are not eligible for this feature.)
- Review the on-screen information to learn more about adding funds, then click I want to add funds.
- Review some key information about adding funds, then click Get started.
- We may ask you to provide some additional identity and business details. If so, please provide the requested information. If not, you can immediately start adding funds using the receiving account(s) that are shown when the Only accounts for adding funds toggle is on.
- If you were asked to provide information, once we review and approve it we’ll update you by email and you’ll be able to start adding funds. Review and approval usually take up to 3 business days.
To add funds to a Payoneer balance, all you need are the bank account details of your receiving account for adding funds. With those details in hand, you sign into your online banking app (or go to your bank branch) and transfer the funds from your bank account to Payoneer using the receiving account’s bank account details. Make sure to provide the exact details listed.
If you have more than one receiving account in a specific currency that can be used for adding funds, it’s up to you which one to use. There is no difference in bank transfer times or fees.
To access your receiving account’s bank account details:
- From your Payoneer account home page, click Add funds on the balance to which you want to add funds.
- Review the key information about adding funds, then click View currency accounts.
- The Receiving accounts page will be shown with Only accounts for adding funds toggled on.
- Click View details on any receiving account shown to get the receiving account’s bank account details, as well as view information about bank transfer time, fees, and the receiving account’s guidelines
- You can copy these details to a file or external location and access them later when executing the transfer in your banking app. In this way you don’t need to sign in to Payoneer every time you wish to transfer funds. Just have your receiving account’s bank account details on hand.
Note: You can also access this view by clicking Get paid > Receiving accounts and toggling on Only accounts for adding funds.
Important note: Pay attention to the listed beneficiary name in the receiving account’s bank account details. This name must be entered exactly as it appears when entering the bank transfer beneficiary in your online banking app. It also must be the name of the bank account holder listed on your bank account. If the names don’t match due to some slight variance such as “Ltd.” vs. “Limited”, the bank transfer may still succeed, but we recommend that you ensure the names are an exact match.
Funds usually arrive in 3-5 business days. You can check the account guidelines of your receiving account to verify the general transfer times.
Try these solutions:
- Verify whether the delay is due to weekend or holidays. Funds typically arrive within 3-5 business days. You can check the account guidelines of your receiving account to verify the general transfer times.
- Check with your bank to make sure there was no issue with the transfer, insufficient funds, etc.
- Verify that you don’t have any open items in Payoneer’s Verification Center that may be blocking funds arriving to your account.
- If you still need further assistance, contact us.
