If you refuse to pay and take responsibility for your mistake, the seller can cancel the transaction after 4 days of nonpayment for the reason "buyer didn't pay" therefore reporting it to Ebay.
Per Ebay:
All unpaid items are recorded on a buyer's account. Buyers who have excessive unpaid items, or canceled transactions, may have limits imposed, or lose their buying privileges.
