Conversions can no longer be created in AdMob. The Conversions table will continue to display a read-only list of the conversions you’ve created in AdMob and Google Ads.
Going forward, all conversions should be created in Google Ads and tracked using the Firebase SDK. If you’re setting up conversion tracking in Google Ads for the first time, follow the instructions totrack conversions with Firebase.
The Conversions table displays a read-only list of the conversions you’ve created in AdMob and Google Ads. You can use the table to learn more about which campaigns and ads bring you business. This can help you invest more wisely in the best campaigns and ads, and hopefully, boost your return on investment (ROI).
You can still create new conversions and manage your existing conversions in your Google Ads account. You can learn more about mobile app conversions in the Google Ads help center.
Conversion types
There are several types of conversions for Android and iOS that may appear in the Conversions table. You can learn more about each type by expanding the sections below:
Types of Android app conversions
AdMob offers three ways to track Android app conversions:
- App installs (from Google Play) allows you to track when customers who clicked your ad download your app from the Google Play store. Conversions are tracked automatically from Google Play, and you don't need to add a tracking snippet to your app code.
- App installs (first open) tracks the first time customers who clicked your ad open your app after installing it. You may want to use this option if you track app installs from sources other than Google Play, or if you use third-party tracking solutions. You can use this option in addition to Android app installs (from Google Play) to get a fuller picture of how your ads are leading customers to install and then open your apps.
- In-app actions track when customers click your ad and then perform an in-app action, like a purchase, account sign-up, or other transaction.
AdMob offers two ways to track iOS app conversions:
- App installs (first open) tracks the first time customers who clicked your ad open your app after installing it. You can use this option to understand how your ads are leading customers to install and then open your iOS apps.
- In-app actions track when customers click your ad and then perform an in-app action, like a purchase, account sign-up, or other transaction.
Tracking status
The tracking status of a conversion in the Conversions table may include one of the following:
- Unverified: We haven't verified that your conversion code snippet is active. This takes a few hours. If it's been more than 24 hours, confirm that your app has been successfully updated with the code snippet.
- No recent conversions: We've verified your conversion code snippet is active, but AdMob hasn't recorded any conversions in the last 7 days. This is most likely because you don't have any ads triggering the conversion action. Make sure your campaigns are all running, and that users tapping your ads are able to complete the action (for instance, download your app).
- Recording conversions: We've verified your conversion code snippet is active and AdMob has recorded conversions within the last 7 days.
- Tag inactive: We can no longer verify that your conversion code snippet is active, and AdMob hasn't recorded any conversions in the last 7 days. For more information, place your cursor over the speech bubble icon () next to the tracking status. You'll find the date we last verified your conversion code snippet, as well as the last date we recorded any conversions, if ever.
- If we never recorded any conversions, it's possible that the the snippet is incorrectly implemented, or you never received any traffic for the ads associated with the conversion.
- If we recorded conversions before, but they stopped, something may have changed with your app or ad campaigns.
- Removed: This conversion action has been removed. You can add it back to your account by clicking the red "X" in the Status column next to the conversion action name, then selecting Enabled.
Status
The status of a conversion in the Conversions table may include one of the following:
- Enabled: This conversion action is active. You can remove it from your account by clicking the green "O" in the Status column next to the conversion action name, then selecting Removed.
- Removed: This conversion action has been removed. You can add it back to your account by clicking the red "X" in the Status column next to the conversion action name, then selecting Enabled.
