Wells Fargo credit cards credit limits can be quite high, depending on your credit standing; the minimum credit limit offered is $1,000, though some cardholders have reported receiving starting spending limits as high as $14,000. More specifically, the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card, the Wells Fargo Reflect, and the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card offer a minimum credit limit of at least $1,000.
Things to Know About Wells Fargo Credit Card Limits
- Wells Fargo starting credit limit: It’s important to remember that $1,000 is the lowest credit limit you’ll start out with if you’re approved for an account. However, you could receive a higher limit.
The actual limit you’ll receive is based on your credit history, income, employment status, level of debt, and more. But you won’t know how much your credit limit will be until you’re approved. Wells Fargo does not publicly disclose its maximum credit limits. - Credit limit increase: If you accept the initial Wells Fargo credit limit offer, you can request an increase in your credit limit after at least six months of timely payments. Wells Fargo may also review your account for an automatic increase after 6 months.
Eligibility is based on things such as payment history and your total amount of debt. However, there’s no guarantee when, or if, an automatic increase will occur. An automatic increase uses a soft inquiry, which means your credit score is not affected.

I applied last night for their Reflect card and was approved with a $22,000 limit. My credit is okay but not amazing.

What was your score if you don’t mind me asking? Maybe your income is high that’s why?

I just applied for the Wells fargo cashback credit card and I received a $30,000 credit line with $18,000 instant cash available. It has awards with 0% balance transfers for your first 15 months and then after that it’s 24.99%. I'm very happy with this Wells fargo credit card as a instantly approved me with no credit check. I've been working on my credit for the last two years on clearing off any old discrepancies, so I truly waited for the right time to apply for this card when I had preapproval offers through the Wells Fargo website.

- I was approved at $2500 with 15 mos credit Hx, score in the lower 700s present FICO 8= 792.. Did request $600 CLI at the one year mark which resulted in a HP (Eq) approval. I requested an $800 CLI at my two year mark and was approved with a SP giving me a $3900 card. Go low go slow strategy. Overall spend is low and spread between 5 other cards. I always PIF never carry a balance. Inc 58K, $0mort $0 rent. O derog, no existing relationship with WF which required in-person ID verify at area branch.

I had 2 years good credit history when I applied and was given a $2500 limit. Two years credit history like I had when I applied for the Active Cash card is poor in a lenders eye. I usually pay the balance a couple three times a month to avoid running up a high balance so $2500 is OK by me. I don't intend to hound WF for more credit. I have another card from another bank and I was able to request a credit limit increase with them online. They denied my request stating I wasn't using as much credit as I could and I could not justify asking for more credit if I wasn't using what they gave me. I take it you really need to be running up a high bill each month and carrying a balance over to be eligible for a limit increase. I merely use my card to charge, not as another source of income. If WF thinks I need a higher limit they'll give me one.
