    Are you wondering why you keep losing top candidates after only a few rounds of interviews? According to recent research, time is the most valuable factor in the interview process. In fact, taking too long to complete the interview process is one of the top reasons why companies lose top candidates. To avoid this, consider implementing a few key time management strategies in your interview process. For example, set a 48-hour deadline to review resumes and contact the candidate or agency on next steps. Keep a maximum of 1 week between all interviews, and schedule the next round with your candidate within 24 hours. Additionally, ensure that all interviewer feedback is submitted within 24 hours and extend a verbal offer or provide feedback on why the candidate is not moving forward within 24 hours. It's also important to explain the entire interview process to the candidate on the first call, with consideration for weekends and holidays. By setting solid expectations for candidates and providing a positive candidate experience, even those who don't get the job will walk away with a positive impression. Remember, time is of the essence in the interview process!

    I have A question to HRs.Why do you continue to interview candidates when the final decision has already been made? You already know that you will not hire this candidate in 99% of cases. It would be great to notify them on these terms! I understand that in terms of accepting CVs and writing a reply like "We haven't even considered your application at all". But why do you waste the candidates time for interview? These are 1-2 hour interviews!!! And then you receive a reply like "The desicion has already been made at the time of your interview and the hiring manager didn't even look at your resume." WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING SCREENING INTERVIEWS??? WHY????You need a reminder: job search is not a joke for people now!

    Which is better, online interviews or face to face interviews for clients and candidates? 👀 In my opinion, there’s room for both in a recruitment process, however, a recent experience showed me the importance of understanding the difference between them to be able to best guide candidates through a recruitment process.I had a candidate meet with one of my clients via Teams, the client loved & offered them the role, however, my candidate did not get the “vibe”. She felt that the interview was a little awkward and that her personality did not mesh well with the Interviewers. Given how much the client loved her, my advice was to go into the office and meet with them face to face. She did, called me straight after and said, “that was so good, they were so easy to talk to and we got along really well”. Fast forward, she accepted the role & starts this week. Moral of the story? Online interviews can be great, they offer both candidates and clients flexibility, however, they don’t always paint the full picture. Body language and environment play a significant role in establishing personal connections, so bare this in mind after your next online interview 😊

So, when possible, outline and clearly communicate what the interview process will look like with candidates from the get-go. That might include the number of interviews (and interviewers), the types of interviews (phone, video, in-person), when candidates will receive feedback, and if applicable any assessments. Also consider pulling availability from everyone on a consistent basis so that scheduling is done proactively. (Doing so could really help limit the waiting period in between interviews.) Overall, the goal is to create a seamless and hopefully enjoyable experience for candidates, ultimately building confidence in their decision to consider the organization long-term.
