Win a bid but don't want it when bidding is over (2024)

Hi. When you place bids ebay has a little warning next to the submit buttontelling you not to bid on more than 1 similar item at a time unless you really want more than 1. If you have won you need to pay via the method the seller has posted in their listings.Sellers get to select payment methods, not buyers.

Ebay will not be able to help you on thisas when you registered yesterday you clicked that little I Agree action box that told ebay that you had read, understood and agreed to abide by all ebay policies.Ebay believed you on that click. Evidently you missed a bunch of those policies when reading them..There is a link to Policies at the bottom of every ebay page. Maybe it is time to take a day off and do a bunch of reading.

If you do not pay after 2 days the seller can open an unpaid item case against you and ebay will then give you another 4 days to pay. If you then do not pay you will recieve an unpaid item strike & that quickly leads to severe restrictions here.

If you end up winning & buying more than 1 then perhaps you can list the extra on ebay and really find out the problems sellers have dealing with bad winners. You might even make some money doing this.

You can email the seller and ask them to cancel that transaction as they are the only one who can do this. Just realize they are under NO obligation to let you off the hook on this.

Good luck, Jim
