No where does it say that feedback in the transaction you have with your trading partner that feedback is part of the transaction. Heck most sites like Ebay no longer even allow sellers to leave feedback for buyers.
As to Ebay specifically since sellers can only leave positive FB with positive remarks, it renders a buyer's FB as irrelevant. Sellers are not even to leave negative comments in the positive FB either or they can be sanctioned for that.
I'm not sure where "fairness" comes into this conversation as the FB system on Ebay has absolutely nothing to do with "fairness".
If the site was only about selling stuff and getting payment, then I'd better understand your position. But a transaction is not complete when payment is made. The seller then needs to package the item, ship it, the buyer needs to receive it and inspect it. If there is an issue or the item doesn't arrive, then the buyer has to contact the seller. Then claims may be involved. But there is much more that happens once the buyer pays and the transaction is not over by any stretch of the imagination.
I respect each and every one of my buyers. To suggest otherwise because some don't agree with you is insulting and you assume too much. I have lots of repeat buyers and some for years.
