When I mean "just starting" I mean like since fallout 4 came out. Like i love the BoS and their views in stuff. I agree with them. And they've always been like that. They didn't just become like how they are in 4. Think bout it. Did you see any ghoul paladins in 3 or new Vegas? Or any of the fallout for that fact? No. They've never liked ghouls. (For good reason as they do eventually always go feral if they live long enough) and for hating synths. Well synths weren't really something the BoS knew about before.
Sorry for this being so long but it's annoying when people say "I liked the old brotherhood" besides. Lyons only cared about helping the PEOPLE. Not ghouls.

I'm just gonna say that I like the Bos. And there was a type of synth in fallout 3 called androids.

There are pre-war ghouls who haven't gone feral, and executing people because they may at some point in the future do bad things is a very slippery slope.
So some people hate the discrimination.
Synths aren't universally considered abominations or even machines, some players think of them as people, so another reason to hate this BOS.
And as you pointed out, the synths weren't exactly prevalent in the previous games.
BOS didn't take food from commoners without their permision in FO3/NV, they do in FO4.
Plenty of players never did FO3/NV, so there's another cause for the increased hate.
Well ghouls will still eventually go feral. Synths are still machines. Whether you think they have emotions or not. They are machines in the end. They should be eradicated. To end what the institute started. And depending on the ending the institute their creations are what bring them their demise. And for the case of Dance, in theory the institute could get him to cause harm to the brotherhood. And they care about the future of man kind. They don't want the end of the world to happen a second time over. (Yes I know it literally the end of the world) and for forcing food. Well you need to get food somehow in a foreign place without wasting soldiers.
I started on Fallout 3 like many other console players. Lyon's Brotherhood of Steel were my first exposure to them. They were about trying to make more of a positive impact on the daily lives of Wastelanders.
Now, Maxson's BoS reverted back to their old ways. I don't hate them, persay. I just can't agree with them when the Minutemen do so much more for people very single day.
It's the same with the Railroad. I like the message. I just think the MM are better. They do more for everyone.

Oh, Canadian, I've been told there's no proof that every Ghoul eventually goes feral. And, there's not much that shows that the BoS hates Ghouls. A few soldiers have been guilty of targeting them out. But, I can't say the whole faction is.
