How To Read Your Tank Gauge
Most standard tanks have a gauge on them that looks similar to the one shown here. The intervals are broken up into fractions and there is typically a "bobber" inside that indicates what level the tank is at. Our general rule of thumb and recommendation is to go by the bottom of where the bobber is reading.
Calculate How Many Gallons You Need
You can use this fuel calculator to figure out how many gallons you have, or how many gallons you need to fill the tank. Enter your tank size (standard size is 275) and adjust the slider to what your gauge is reading.
Knowing When To Order:
Not sure when a good time to order is, or how long your fuel will last? Follow these simple guidelines below.
1/8 TANK: ORDER NOW!
If you have an 1/8 of a tank, that means you have about 20-30 gallons left in the tank which should last about 2-3 days in cold temperatures. Order as soon as possible so that we can get a delivery to you before you run out.
1/4 TANK: ORDER SOON!
If you have 1/4 of a tank, that means you have about 50-60 gallons left in the tank. This should last you about a week in cold temperatures.
1/2 TANK: BEST TIME TO ORDER
This is the ideal time to order fuel. You will need about 125 gallons to fill the tank, which would meet our 100-gallon minimum.
3/4 TANK: WAIT TO ORDER
If you have 3/4 of a tank, you won’t quite meet the minimum of 100 gallons for a delivery. Hang tight and consider ordering closer to 1/2 tank to avoid any truck fees.
