What securities can I transfer?

M1 performs in-kind transfers, which allow you to bring over any supported securities you have at your current brokerage.
M1 only supports securities that trade on major stock exchanges to ensure liquidity.
If you initiate a transfer of a security not supported by M1, the received security will display outside your Pie. You may either keep this security outside your Pie or request to liquidate.
M1 can only transfer full shares. Any fractional shares will need to be liquidated at your current brokerage.

*If you are unsure whether we support a specific security, you can log into M1 Finance and search for the security on the Research tab. We charge to liquidate some securities that are transferred to M1. Please refer to our fee disclosures for liquidation fees.
**If the mutual fund you are attempting to liquidate is a tender fund, the liquidation request will be submitted on the tender date of your mutual fund holding. Please note, most tender funds only offer pro-rata liquidations, as such, there is the potential that only a portion of your mutual fund position will be liquidated. If you are subject to a pro-rata distribution, your tender mutual fund will be submitted on each of the following tender dates until your position has been fully liquidated.
***Can be traded if shares of Supported stocks. Apex Clearing charges $115 per directly registered holding transferred to M1 Finance.
Brokerage accounts on the M1 platform are either fully disclosed to APEX Clearing or cleared through M1 Finance LLC. Please look at your account statement to determine how your account is cleared.
