Hello @mikhail.zulkifli ,
Welcome to the MS Q&A platform.
In general, a node refers to a VM that is part of a cluster and "core" refers to a CPU core in a VM.
But In this context, "node" and "core" are used interchangeably to refer to computing resources.
We need to consider the below three factors when defining an integration runtime.
- Cluster type
- Cluster size
- Time to live
Cluster type: General purpose or Memory optimized
Cluster Size(node size): Small, Medium or Large
Time to live: how long the cluster stays after completing a pipeline or external activity run if there are no other active jobs.
If you have 4 worker nodes, it means you have 4 CPU cores available. The number of nodes you will have depends on the cluster size.
If you choose the default cluster size(small), you will have 4 driver nodes and 4 worker nodes.
In total = 8 nodes( 4 driver nodes + 4 worker nodes) which is equal to 8 CPU cores (small cluster size)
For your question, when you choose Auto IR and small node, then the default cores are 4worker cores+ 4 Driver cores = total 8 V cores.
I hope this clarifies your question. Please let me know if you have any further questions here.
