What is N26 Instant Savings? (2024)

N26 Instant Savings is an easy-access savings account that’s 100% flexible and available for free in the N26 app. You can earn interest on your savings, and instantly withdraw anytime, without losing any interest you’ve already earned. Here's how you can sign up for N26 Instant Savings:

1. Log in to the N26 mobile app
2. Tap on Finances
3. Select Instant savings next to the piggy bank icon
4. Read and accept the general terms and conditions

The interest is calculated daily and paid out monthly directly on your Savings account. The applicable interest rate depends on your membership. Due to recent changes in the interest rates set by the European Central Bank, we're changing our interest rates as follows:

• N26 Standard, Smart, You:
  • New rate: 2.0% NIR (2.0% AER)
  • Old rate: 2.26% NIR (2.26% AER)
• N26 Metal:
  • New rate: 3.0 % NIR (2.8% AER)*
  • Old rate: 4.0% NIR* (3.8% AER)

The new rates apply to all customers who opened their Instant Savings after and including August 1st, 2024. If you opened your Instant Savings account before that date, the new interest rates will apply starting October 1st, 2024.

If you see the option to sign up for N26 Instant Savings in the mobile app, you’re eligible! You’ll need:

• The latest version of the N26 App.
• An N26 personal account or business account with a Standard or Premium membership (Smart, You, Metal).
• A Spanish IBAN (beginning with ES)
• A legal address in Spain registered in your account.
• A valid Spanish tax ID registered in your account.
• The ID document linked to your account is valid and expires in more than one month.
• The balance of your N26 account is 0 or positive.
• There is no garnishment on your N26 account.

Please note: To benefit from this offer, you’ll need to open an N26 account. After that, you may open a separate N26 Instant Savings account to earn interest alongside everyday banking. Please note that you’ll only be able to open an N26 Instant Savings account if you meet the eligibility requirements. Interest is earned only on funds held in your Instant Savings account.

N26 Instant Savings - FAQ

*2.8% AER (3% annual NIR). With this interest rate, if you maintain a daily balance of €100 000 in your N26 Instant Savings account for 12 months, discounting the annual N26 Metal subscription fee of €202.80, your annual remuneration amounts to a gross amount before withholdings and taxes of €2,797.20. Interest is paid monthly. Applicable to any amount deposited in the N26 Instant Savings account, with no maximum limit.
