A toolkit is just a set of tools used for a particular purpose & can be created by anyone. In computing it's a set of software tools. Is also referred to as a set of guidelines, directions, or instructions to get something done. A toolkit could be a document, explainer, or manual, and may include information about the specific issue in the context of the object, a kind of an action plan, however, toolkits are not necessarily linked to demonstrations.
A toolkit explains the topic at hand and offers a set of adaptable suggestions that can be followed to achieve the desired goal through online & on-ground support to meet the objective of the campaign.
CREATION AND USE OF TOOLKIT
The Young Adult Library Services Association, part of the American Association, has uploaded a toolkit creation guide that lays down the steps to creating a toolkit. A toolkit structure has multiple categories, including tools related to definitions, engagement and communication, assessment, planning, training, evaluation, policy and procedure, and finance. Some tools meet the purposes of multiple categories; For instance, a tool that is used to evaluate outcomes associated with training may fit into both the “Training” and the “Evaluation” categories. A large number of websites provide guidelines for the preparation of toolkits.
The Government of India Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade has a toolkit on how to implement Intellectual Property Rights.
Toolkits are also present on the website of the US’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and on the official Public Health England website.
IS TOOLKIT ILLEGAL?
There is nothing illegal or violent about it. Not surprisingly, this term was used by IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad last year to lend a muscular aura to the banning of Chinese apps. The toolkit merely calls for mobilizing opinion through social media, sharing solidarity, photo/video messages, signing petitions and emails, kind of campaign for the cause.
CONCLUSION
The toolkit is a means to get a paperless campaign in the digital format seeking attention to the purpose of the campaign. The toolkit is used to give information and measures to deal with a particular situation and is legal in democracy guarded by a constitution stronger as ours. However, what is important is the objective of the toolkit. If something is created with a criminal motive, the law will take its own course. One has to understand the thin line between what is legal and what is illegal. Youngsters should be more careful while getting involved in campaigns. Breach of law will also invite prosecution.
