What is a secret phrase? ›

Definition of the secret phrase. A secret phrase, also known as a seed phrase, recovery phrase or mnemonic phrase, is a sequence of words that are used to generate the private key for a blockchain wallet. The private key is used to access and manage the funds associated with the wallet's corresponding public address.

What is a secret recovery phrase? Your secret recovery phrase is the key to your wallet and controls access to all your crypto. A secret recovery phrase is a set of words that correspond to numbers. These numbers make up a seed integer that generates all of the private keys in your wallet.

Keeping your 12-word secret recovery phrase safe is crucial to keep access to your crypto. Your secret recovery phrase lets you restore your wallet and funds on another device. This ensures you'll always have access to your funds, even if your device is broken, lost, or stolen.

The Secret Phrase can be found within Settings. Never share your Secret Phrase with anyone. In the event your phone is broken, stolen, lost or the app is accidentally deleted, your wallet can always be restored on a different phone using the Secret Phrase.

A "Recovery Phrase" is a randomly generated list of 24 words that a user will write down. These 24 words are hashed to create a super-strong 256-bit AES encryption key. This only replaces your security answer in case you forget your master password. This does not replace your master password.
