How does a credit card PIN work?
When you swipe your credit card to make a purchase, the merchant will ask you to enter your PIN (if needed). Once you enter your PIN on a keypad or touchscreen, the information you entered is verified against your card information. If the PIN is correct, the transaction may be approved. If the PIN is incorrect, the transaction will be declined and you may be asked to enter your PIN again.
