Networking is crucial even in the places that don’t come to mind at first. If there are opportunities, events, or destinations that seem totally out of your comfort zone. That is most likely where you will meet someone looking for your exact expertise. Or, was the place you had to go to push those self imposed boundaries.

Something to consider is knowing the industry or type of analysis that interests you to better focus your education and experience. More often than not analysts take a passive approach to their career focus and lean into tailoring their learning to the industry and skills needed for their first job out of college. Or, set out to learn everything under sun and spend a lot of time and money on education that has vary little ROI. The pragmatic thing to do is to be sure you have a great general foundation of skills, then build on the skills needed for your particular area of interest.

I am a former Financial Planner who practiced for 23 years. One of the most important things is an open mind and always learning. I am a Realtor now and have been using Chat GPT to analyze stats for me on waterfront properties. It has been tricky to input the stats from my MLS because it is not exported in a cvs format however I figured out how to do it with the help of Chat GPT. My point is ... be open and always learning. This little trick I just learned will put me so far ahead of my competition as far as data. The whole process of figuring it out was an education in itself. Whether you are pro AI or Not, AI is here to stay. I have found it to aid me in my creativity to improve my business
