There are no health risks associated with Herbalife. Before a product makes it onto the shelf, each product journey follows strict processes governed by EU and local laws, regulations and internal guidelines to make sure it's safe for consumption. These guidelines start from product concept all the way through to packaging. Herbalife follows a 14-step quality assurance guide to make sure you’re consuming only the highest quality products.
Across the 90 + markets we operate in, we have dedicated Quality Assurance teams. These teams make sure that any new or existing Herbalife product follows all local government food regulations.
You may notice across the Herbalife portfolio; some products or flavours might only exist in Europe and Africa whereas other products and flavours might only exist in the USA. How does Herbalife ensure there are no health risks associated with products?
Herbalife has taken part in multiple studies and clinical trials to ensure there our products are completely safe.
A study conducted in 2010 by Li Z, et al, on NIH-PubMed concluded that Protein-enriched meal replacements do not carry any adverse effects on health. Both high-protein and standard-protein diets were well tolerated and sustainable. There were no changes in liver function, renal function or bone mineral density based on routine clinical assessments.
This study showed that both the HP (high protein-enriched) and SP (standard protein) diets resulted in the expected weight loss typical of a Meal Replacement diet plan in individuals over 12 months.
