While choosing a platform, one must keep in mind the visual appeal for the learner, the speed with which the platform runs, ease of navigation, storage capacity and bookmark tools.Where videos are posted, the buffer time should be almost nil with time stamps for students to open the relevant topics with ease.The platform should be capable of handling student traffic, should have a data leaderboard. It should also make grading easier. Platform should ideally capture the entire student journey and should be capable of providing data for each student’s progression, progression of the entire batch, attendance and should have a discussion forum for candidates to discuss all ideas.

In a job filled with a thousand five minute jobs, having an effective file system that makes them four minute jobs is key. My best practice is using lots of precisely named folders so you aren’t left scrolling through long lists trying to cherry pick something when you’re in a rush. In addition to this, it will help when referring back to lessons from a previous year.

I think, as far as it is humanly possible, when organising digital resources try to think ahead about potential technological changes. You certainly don’t want to shift everything over to a particular niche platform and find every few years that you need to start from scratch. Also, a great piece of advice if you use Microsoft in your department - make sure team members don’t share files with the department from their personal one drive - they need to share on platforms such as Teams itself otherwise all their files will go forever the day they leave your organisation!
