What are Instant Debit Withdrawals? (2024)

Having an external debit card linked to your Stash account can let you withdraw funds from your Stash banking account instantly.

Instant debit withdrawals allow you to withdraw up to $1,000 from your Stash banking account to a linked external debit card for a 1% fee. The transfer should only take a few minutes to complete.

Linking a debit card.

Before you can make an instant transfer, you’ll need to link an active external debit card to your Stash account in order to use this feature. To do so, follow these steps in the app:

Have you already linked a card to your profile?

Yes:

1. Login to the Stash app.
2. Tap Transfer at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap Move Cash.
4. Select your From account..
5. Select your debit card as your To account.
6. Follow the prompts to complete your transfer.

No:

1. Login to the Stash app.
2. Tap Home at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap your initials (iOS) or hamburger icon (Android) in the upper-left corner.
4. Tap Subscription Plan.
5. Click Change next to Payment method to change your payment method to a debit card.
6. Tap Transfer at the bottom of the screen.
7. Tap Move Cash.
8. Select your From account.
9. Select your debit card as your To account.
10. Follow the prompts to complete your transfer.

Using Instant Debit Withdrawals.

After you’ve linked your active external debit card, you may be eligible to use the Instant Debit Withdrawals feature. Follow these steps to complete an Instant Debit Withdrawal:

Note: Your Stock-Back Card must be active in order to complete an instant debit withdrawal.

On the app:

1. Tap Transfer on the bottom navigation bar.
2. Tap Move Money.
3. Select Stash banking account.
4. Tap on your debit card.
5. Enter the amount you would like to transfer and tap Continue.
6. Review the transfer details and tap Transfer to complete your instant transfer.

On the web:

1. Select Home.
2. Select Transfer.
3. Select Stash banking account.
4. Select your debit card.
5. Enter the amount you wish to transfer.
6. Click Confirm to complete the withdrawal.

Transfer speeds vary and could take up to 10 minutes to complete. Limits may apply.
