Stay long in the crypto industry, and you will soon notice many acronyms and terms that may leave you scratching your head.
There is something about hearing and getting this slangs that makes you feel like part of the crypto community. This is dedicated to all you true crypto nerds out there.
1. GM
GM simply means “Good Morning”. The crypto community says GM to each other because everyone is in a global community and it is nice to say good morning to each other as you start the day. The twitter community usually starts off their day with a GM tweet, and the followers will greet back with a GM reply.

2. GN
The reverse of GM is GN or “Good Night”. The same way how active crypto community leaders say GM the first thing when they start their day, they say GN when they are going to take a quick rest before starting the day again with a GM.
3. CT
CT is short for Crypto Twitter. For those who has not been on Twitter for a long time, twitter has evolved into a huge information pool for the crypto community where the latest drops, breaking news are all made available first on twitter. Can also be used to refer to the crypto community on Twitter as a whole.
4. GMI / WAGMI
GMI or WAGMI is short for “Gonna Make It” / “We All Gonna Make It”. It refers to a high conviction and optimistic state about the future. “Just bought a punk, GMI”.
5. NGMI
NGMI is short for “Not Gonna Make It”. This is typically used when disagreeing with a certain action or as a sign of regret over bad decision. “Just sold my punk for 1 ETH, NGMI”
6. Probably Nothing
In crypto-speak, “Probably Nothing” means “Probably Something”. It is a polite way to ape into something, with just barely some plausible deniability. “Visa just bought a punk. Probably nothing.”
7. Ape
This means taking a large position in relative to one’s portfolio size. “I aped into Solana.”
8. Szn
Szn is short for season which means market cycle. Crypto Szns are typically market rotation from one theme to another theme and can be as short as 1 week to 2 months.

September NFT SZN
9. Mint
Minting is the act of initially issuing a piece of art on the blockchain, either by the artist or the collector. “Wow that is such a promising NFT collection, Mint it!”
10. Few
Few is short for “few understand” and it’s used at the end of the sentence to make the point. Similar to “Probably Nothing”. “Visa bought a punk. Few.”
11. IYKYK
IYKYK is short for “If You Know, You Know”, and is used similarly to “Few” and “Probably Nothing”.

12. Normies
Normies refers to the mass majority of people who have yet to explore the crypto space, or have decided to stay out of the twitter space.

13. Shill
Shilling is when someone is actively promoting a certain behaviour with a hidden motive. It may be because the person has a large position in the crypto he is promoting. “He has a large bag in dogecoin that’s why he is going around shilling it to normies”
14. LFG
LFG is short for “Let’s f***ing go” and is used when you are excited about a project. Best used with the rocket emoji.

15. Cope
This is used as the opposite of FOMO. Usually used when one failed to buy a crypto because one’s earlier mistake of not FOMO’ing at 10% the price. “I know Solana is up 3x, but I didnt understand the hype so I’m staying out.” “LOL OK, cope.”
