How do I view multiple panes in Excel? ›

On the View tab, in the Window group, click View Side by Side (by default, Synchronous Scrolling is activated), to scroll both workbooks at the same time.

For example, consider the following ways multiple worksheets in a workbook can help with keeping data organized: A workbook with monthly sales figure with each year on a different worksheet. A workbook with mailing lists for weekly flyers on one worksheet and coupon mailings on another.

Locate the scroll arrows in the lower-left corner of the Excel window. Right-click on or near the scroll arrows, as shown below. A dialog box will appear that lists all the sheets in your workbook. Double-click on the sheet that you want to switch to.

View multiple worksheets at the same time

If the worksheets that you want to view are in the same workbook, do the following: Click a worksheet that you want to view. On the View tab, in the Window group, click New Window. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each sheet that you want to view.

To change the default composition, click the Arrange All button on the View tab. In the Arrange Windows dialog box, select Vertical to place the sheets next to each other.

Open the workbooks you want to compare. Go to the View tab, Window group, and click the View Side by Side button. That's it!
