Things I Never Splurge My Money On (2024)

Room Service

There’s just something about room service that isn’t for me. I have to be in a deep dark place to need to spend the ridiculous amount of money this costs. Think super hung over or sick and maybe even using a company expense account.

First Class Tickets

Okay, if I HAD the money, I would 100% splurge on this. But I am not someone who will even pay for Delta Comfort. While I would love to live a first-class life, I would rather save the upgrade fee to spend on a nice hotel. I guess you can say I will definitely splurge on a Delta ticket. I am not a discount air kinda person.

Expensive Shampoos And Conditioner

I have tried so many shampoos and conditioners. And honestly, my hair is so easy that I can use Head & Shoulders 2-in-1 the rest of my life and not be able to tell a difference. I know this is a gift and I thank my mom’s good hair genes for it.

The Expensive Restaurant

Maybe I’m not a fancy kinda gal, but a big fancy restaurant is my least favorite thing ever. Sure it’s nice if someone else is picking up the tab. But honestly, I’m really happy at a casual hole in the wall. I just think spending $28 on a piece of chicken feels totally criminal. And I also hate being all dressed up for a meal. I want to be comfortable when I’m stuffing my belly full of food.

Elite Designer Items

I always say that even if I was a multi-millionaire, I’m not sure I’d even buy those $10,000 bags. I can’t think of one that I love. And spending that on one single item does not bring me joy. It actually gives me a bit of anxiety to think about. I think I’d rather spend that on tons of shoes, or a fabulous trip. But, you do you, though!

I just don’t think this is something that will ever bring me joy. I’d love to find out though if it’s true…how can I become a multi-millionaire real quick to find out? There is one brand I think I’d spend my money on, but again their bags aren’t even in the 10k ballpark. And that’s Celine bags. I feel like that’s my designer bag vibe and I have been tempted, especially on my most recent trip to Paris. I definitely rolled my eyes when I saw the nearly $4,000 price tag on the one I was eyeing. So I think I’ll stick to my Sezane bags for now!

White Tees

I suppose this is subjective, but I won’t spend more than $40 on a good white tee. I feel like I wear them to death and they get ruined so quickly, no matter the price point. And I made the mistake of getting a nicer one from Reformation and found myself never wearing it because I was afraid to ruin it. Newsflash, wear the things. But it was a good lesson learned that I can not spend a ton on a white tee! Update though, I have been wearing said nicer white Reformation tee and it is holding up very well. Maybe you ARE supposed to spend more?
