Chase them off of the nearest cliff/ledge, but don't damage them any more; let them kill themselves.

TIPS: - Don't pick up any passive items that deal damage. Kills (on my Xbox) didn't count unless I stuck around for a couple seconds and watched them die. - If you're playing as the engineer, either refrain from using your turrets, or place them far enough away that they don't kill the hermit crabs. - Play on Drizzle, and rush to Stage 5. That way you have plenty of time before the game becomes too difficult and hectic.

This achievement requires you to chase 20 hermit crabs off the edge of the world. Now, hermit crabs spawn in 2 areas: Abyssal depths and Titanic plains, the latter only after looping.
Hermit Crabs are mostly found in Abyssal Depths, and will only start spawning in Titanic Plains after looping at least once, although their presence will be minimal until HAHAHAHA difficulty.
You have to go through the first 4 stages, then cycle back to Titanic Plains (They don't spawn on Distant Roost). They spawn in Abyssal Depths (4th Stage) but there's no cliff to chase them off of.
