Earlier this year, Corteiz sent the streets of London, New York, and Paris wild for the release of its Corteiz x Nike Air Max 95. A drop that caused an absolute buying frenzy across all three cities, it sold out within seconds both in-store and online.
To the dismay of many sneakerheads out there, the first launch was bombarded with thousands and thousands of bots that were programmed to buy sneakers at a faster rate than humans. Which is cool. However, Corteiz's founder, Clint419, has revealed that they were actually able to cancel all of these orders and they'll be re-releasing them very soon.
Arriving in ‘Gutta Green,’ ‘Pink Beam,’ and ‘Aegean Storm’ colourways, which were originally made exclusively for London, New York, and Paris, respectively, each pair features a netted mesh and leather construction. Toggle switch lacing systems add an element of ruggedness across each of the trainers, and the chunky midsole is infused with Nike's Air technology for extra comfort and cushioning. You'll also find Corteiz branding stitched across the front, while their Alcatraz logo makes its way to the tongue.
The Corteiz x Nike collaboration is one of the industry's most unexpected partnerships. Just two years ago, the American sportswear giant actually filed a lawsuit against the British streetwear label as its name bore an uncanny resemblance to one of their most famous models, the Cortez. So it's nice to see that they became best buds in the end.
