The number eight is just as significant in scripture as the numbers which precede it. God has designated it to be the number of regeneration, or resurrection. Eight also denotes a new beginning. It represents those who are connected to God through the Spirit of Life.

Eight is the addition of seven plus one. Seven representing the perfect man plus the Spirit of Life from God. It represents the church of born again believers because they have entered into newness of life.

Four plus four is the man built on a sure natural and spiritual foundation, complete in both word and Spirit. Remember that four is the number for a complete earthly foundation built on spiritual truth.

When the Hebrew people camped in the wilderness they had a four sided encampment within another four sided encampment located within it. The twelve tribes camped three on each of the four sides of the camp, while the priests camped in the same configuration inside the enclosure. .

The outside camp symbolized the body, the inner camp represented the soul and the tabernacle was always located in the center of the formation representing Christ in the heart of man

Five plus three represents the grace given by God and the presence of the Godhead in the life of the believer.

The number of Jesus’ name is 888 when we use the Hebrew method of adding a numerical value to each letter of their alphabet. Jesus was the perfect man, complete in body, soul, and Spirit. He did not have to be filled with the Spirit of Life because he is life.

Adam was a perfectly created living soul but he was not a redeemed man. Had he eaten of the Tree of Life his redemption would have been complete. Therefore the number seven represents Adam who was complete but not indwelt by the Spirit of God. The Second Adam (Jesus) is represented by eight because he is the Spirit of Life.

Eight is also the number for the born again believer who indwelt with the Holy Ghost and is a joint heir with Christ. Eight connects the redeemed man to number nine which is Spiritual power.
