The best Genshin Impact Venti build, weapon, and Venti F2P options (2024)

The winds may change, but the best Genshin Impact Venti build remains constant, even with the addition of new Dendro reactions in Genshin Impact 3.0.

Venti is a master of Elemental Reactions, and you’ll want to build him accordingly. F2P options are slightly more limited in the Energy department, but balance Venti’s stats and make him useful even without his Elemental Skill and Burst.

With the likes of Kazuha and even Heizou and Sayu in the meta, though, you may want to think a bit more carefully about whether your team needs a spot for Venti.

When is the Venti banner date?

Venti is coming around again, this time as part of Genshin Impact 3.1. His banner runs from September 27 (or 28, depending on your time zone) through October 14, alongside the new 5-star character Cyno in a double wish event. Electro healer Kuki Shinobu, Sayu the Anemo ninja, and new 4-star Hydro support character Candace join as the 4-stars on both banners.

Is Venti a DPS character?

Venti is a half-step between a main-DPS and an elemental sub-DPS. Venti’s biggest asset is dealing Elemental damage with his unique skills and through triggering Swirl reactions. His base attack is fairly low for a five-star character, and while you can buff it, his potential lies in his skill and burst. That means you need at least one or two elemental support characters so Venti has material to work with. Ideally, you want to pair him with an elemental main DPS or a sub-DPS with skills that linger on the field. Like other Anemo characters, Venti excels at reducing enemy elemental resistances if he has the right Artifact set equipped.

Venti’s skill creates an Anemo vortex that launches enemies, spreading any existing elements around and causing Swirl reactions. These launched enemies fall slowly, giving you time to target the entire group with other strong AoE skills and finish them off quickly. If you hold the button, Venti rides into the air on an updraft, which is handy for pulling off plunging attacks on the grouped enemies.

The skill's press form has a comparatively short cooldown timer of six seconds and generates three energy particles, which is quite good. Holding the skill only generates one extra particle and lengthens the cooldown to 15 seconds, so if you want to use Venti as a source of energy recharge, the skill's press version is your best bet.

Venti's burst creates a wind vortex that sucks enemies in, triggers Swirl if Hydro, Electro, or Pyro is present, then absorbs that element and deals multiple instances of elemental damage for several seconds. Most of the damage Venti deals comes from his burst, and with a modest energy requirement of 60, you can typically keep him topped up without focusing too much on his energy recharge.

What are Venti’s materials?

Venti uses Slime items and Hurricane Seeds, the latter of which comes from the Anemo Hypostasis, along with Cecilia flowers. Cecilia only grows on Starsnatch Cliff, north of the Thousand Winds Temple. There are fewer than 40 each time, so you’ll want to consider growing them in your Serenitea Pot’s Luxuriant Glebe as well.

Should I pull for Venti?

Venti's usefulness depends on who else you have in your party. Venti has no support options that help the rest of the party and no talents that increase his own damage capabilities, so while he is powerful, other characters may play a more important role.

Venti is an excellent choice for practically any party setup, if you're just starting out in Genshin Impact. If you have Kazuha or even Sucrose, though, your Primogems might be better spent on Cyno or just saved for another character.

Kazuha's skill has a shorter cooldown timer, even for the hold version, while Sucrose deals more Anemo damage and raises the party's elemental mastery. That last feature is particularly important for Dendro parties, where elemental mastery plays a bigger role than ever.

What is the best Venti build in Genshin Impact?

Venti has a few build options, though they all revolve around maximizing his elemental damage in some form.

Genshin Impact Venti build - Best weapon for Venti

Elegy for the End is Venti's signature weapon, with a secondary stat that increases Elemental Recharge and a passive skill that increases Elemental Mastery. Dealing damage with an Elemental Skill or Burst earns the wielder Sigils. With four Sigils, the user’s Elemental Mastery increases by a further 100, while their attack increases by 20 percent.

The bow is useful, but not essential. Venti has a couple of 4-star bows that suit Venti just as well, if not better.

The Stringless is one of them. Its secondary stat increases the user's elemental mastery, while the passive skill boosts elemental skill and burst power. The bow frequently shows up in weapon banners, so you have a decent chance of getting at least one or two.

The Sacrificial Bow also has a lot to offer Venti. Energy recharge is its secondary stat, albeit at half the value of Elegy for the End, and the passive skill has a high chance of resetting the user's skill cooldown timer.

Genshin Impact Venti build - Best Artifacts for Venti

The four-piece Viridescent Venerer set is the best choice for Venti. The two-piece effect increases Anemo damage by 15 percent, which is handy for regular mob encounters. The four-piece effect is the real star, though. It boosts Swirl damage by an impressive 60 percent and reduces enemy resistance to the non-Anemo element by 40%, making Venti indispensable for boss encounters and other tough battles.

Focus on elemental mastery and Anemo damage for your Artifact stats, though don't ignore critical rate and critical damage stats either. Elemental mastery is more important and relatively easier to get, but Venti with a high crit rate does respectable damage as well.

What is the best Venti F2P build?

Venti’s F2P build takes advantage of a new Sumeru weapon you can forge and a fish-themed bow.

Best F2P weapon for Venti - King's Squire

The new King's Squire bow has attack as its secondary stat and raises the user's elemental mastery by up to 140, and while that boost seems small, it still complements Artifact strength quite well.

End of the Line, a free bow obtained by fishing, increases energy recharge and boosts the user's attack after they unleash an elemental skill.

Best Artifacts for Venti F2P

Viridescent Venerer is still a solid choice for this Venti build, but if you want to focus on Energy Recharge instead, try Emblem of Severed Fate. The two-piece effect increases Energy Recharge by 20%, and the four-piece effect buffs the user’s Elemental Burst by 25% of their total Energy Recharge.

What is the best party comp for Venti?

Venti benefits from a varied elemental party along with characters who have long-lasting Elemental abilities. Xingqiu and Barbara are good Hydro choices, since they can inflict Wet without even being on the field. Xiangling’s Pyronado makes her a good Pyro fit, and while they might not be the most impressive characters around, Lisa and Kaeya make for solid Electro and Cryo options.
