First time use

Review these steps if you need help with the setup process.

  1. Remove the back cover and battery to find the Wi-Fi Name (SSID) and password inside the back panel of your mobile hotspot.
  2. Verify the SIM card is inserted and replace the battery and back cover.
  3. Hold the Power button for 3 seconds until all LED indicators illuminate.
  4. Connect your Wi-Fi device to your Mobile Hotspot.
  5. On your computer or other Wi-Fi enabled device, search for available Wi-Fi networks and select network name (SSID).
    • From a Windows PC:
      1. Left-select Wireless Network Connection on the taskbar to view available networks.
      2. Choose the SSID from the list of available networks.
    • From a Mac computer:
      1. Select System Preferences > Network > Airport.
      2. SelectAdvanced to choose SSID from the list of available networks.
      3. Choose the SSID from the list of available networks and enter your hotspot password.
    • From an iOS device:
      1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
      2. Choose the SSID from the list of available networks and enter your hotspot password.
    • From an Android device:
      1. Go to Settings > Wi‑Fi settings.
      2. Choose the SSID from the list of available networks and enter your hotspot password.

Access hotspot WebUI Manager

The hotspot WebUI Manager is a virtual dashboard to manage your mobile hotspot’s settings, features, and security controls.

  1. After connecting the hotspot to your Wi-Fi enabled device, open a web browser and enter http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
  2. Enter the WebUI password and select Login. The password is Admin + last 4 digits of the IMEI. The IMEI is printed on the device label under the battery.
  3. On your first login, you will be asked to create a new password. Create your new password and log in again.

Change hotspot admin password

  1. SelectSettings>Device Settings.
  2. Enter the current password, new password, and re-confirm the new password.
  3. SelectSave.

Change hotspot Network Name (SSID) and Wi-Fi password

  1. SelectSettings > Wi-Fi Basic Settings.
  2. Select radio button 2.4 or 5 GHz.
  3. Change the name and password in the field and selectSave.
  4. This will disconnect your current connection and you will need to reconnect to the hotspot and log back into the WebUI manager.

Go to the Device information page for basic information about your hotspot, including:

  • Phone Number (shows the phone number of the SIM card)
  • IMEI
  • Signal Strength.
  • 2.4GHz Network Name (SSID)(displays 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Channel name).
  • 5GHz Network Name (SSID)(displays 5 GHz Wi-Fi Channel name).
  • Maximum Connections (the maximum number of connected devices allowable is 10).
  • LAN Domain
  • MAC Address
  • IP Address
  • WAN IP Address
  • Software Version
  • Model name

View plan details

Go to the Plan detailspage to review your data plan details and set up a monthly billing plan.

  • Set the billing day: Choose from 1 through 31.
  • Set the billing month: Choose from 1 through 12.

View connection details

Go to the Statistics page to review information about your connection, including:

  • Upload speed
  • Download speed
  • Current Connection
  • Current Year

Battery

  1. Remove the back cover.
  2. Install or remove the battery.
  3. Replace the back cover.

Insert/Remove SIM card

This device supports a Nano size SIM card.

  1. Remove the back cover and battery.
  2. Insert/Remove the SIM card from the SIM slot.
  3. Replace the battery and back cover.

Turn SIM PIN on/off

The SIM PIN code can protect your SIM from being used in other devices. When you turn on the SIM PIN lock, the device prompts you to enter the code after turning it on.

  1. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  2. SelectSettings > Pin Code Management.
  3. Toggle the Pin Code Management switch on or off.

Connections & Network

Hotspot network name (SSID) & password

  • The hotspot network name (SSID) is the name of the Wi-Fi network you'll need to connect to.
  • The default hotspot network name (SSID) and password can be found inside the back panel of your mobile hotspot by removing the back cover and battery.
  • You can change the SSID and password using the WebUI Manager

Turn Hotspot on

  1. Hold the Power button for 3 seconds until all LED indicators illuminate.
  2. Wait for the Network and Wi-Fi Indicators to come on, one at a time.
  3. When the Network and Wi-Fi icons light up, the Wi-Fi connection is enabled.

Turn Hotspot off

  1. Hold thePowerbutton for 3 seconds until all LED indicators turn off.
  2. The Network and Wi-Fi connections have been disabled.

Connect to the hotspot

To connect your Wi-Fi enabled device to your hotspot for internet access, follow these steps.

  1. Make sure your hotspot is turned on.
  2. Select the Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID).
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi Password.
  4. Refer to theHotspot WebUI Manager or the Quick Start Guide if you need to change your hotspotWi-Fi Network Name (SSID) orWi-Fi Password.

USB tethering

To connect your Wi-Fi enabled device to the mobile hotspot using a USB-C cable instead of using the Wi-Fi network follow these steps.

  1. Make sure your mobile hotspot is on and has an active data connection.
  2. Connect one end of the USB C cable to the hotspot and the other end to your device.
  3. Your device will detect a network connection via USB automatically.
  4. Check your connection by visiting a website.

Turn on / off cellular data

  1. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  2. SelectSettings > Network Settings.
  3. Toggle the Cellular Data switch on or off.

Turn on / off data roaming

  1. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  2. SelectSettings>Network Settings.
  3. Toggle the Data Roaming switch on or off.

Create a new APN (Access Point Name)

Your mobile hotspot comes pre-configured with the access point name (APN) for your network service provider. The mobile hotspot checks the APN to determine the type of network connection to establish.

  1. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  2. SelectSettings>Network Settings.
  3. Select Add under the APN list. A pop-up box will appear to create new APN.
  4. Enter the Profile Name of APN.
  5. Enter the APN.
  6. Enter the Username and Password.
  7. Select Authentication Mode: PAP or CHAP.
  8. Select IPType:IPv4 orIPv4v6.

Push WPS button

  1. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  2. SelectSettings > WPS.
  3. Activate the WPS connection on the device you want to connect to the hotspot.
  4. SelectPush WPS Button.
  5. Wait a moment for a successful Wi-Fi connection.

Enter Device PIN

  1. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  2. SelectSettings > WPS.
  3. Activate the WPS connection on the Wi-Fi device you want to connect to the hotspot.
  4. Enter the device’s 8-digit PIN code in the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  5. Wait a moment for a successful Wi-Fi connection.

Connecting with WPS button

To connect your Wi-Fi device securely using the WPS button on your hotspot follow these steps.

  1. Keep the T-Mobile Hotspot in range of the device you want to connect with.
  2. Turn on your mobile hotspot by pressing and holding the Power button for 3 seconds.
  3. Open your Wi-Fi network manager on your computer, smartphone, tablet, or other Wi-Fi enabled device.
  4. Connect your Wi-Fi enabled device to your hotspot by selecting your mobile hotspot’s network name (SSID).
  5. Press and hold the WPS button located on the bottom of the mobile hotspot for 5 seconds.
  6. Your Wi-Fi enabled device will start connecting.

Email & Messaging

View a text messaging

This device can only receive messages and not send them. To view a text message, follow these steps.

  1. The message LED indicator will flash on the hotspot when a new message is received and will show a solid light when the inbox is full.
  2. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  3. Select the SMS tab.A list of messages will be displayed.
  4. Choose the message to open it.

Delete a text message

A maximum of 50 new messages can be stored. Older messages will be deleted automatically.To delete a text message, follow these steps.

  1. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  2. Select theSMStab.A list of messages will be displayed.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the message you want to delete.
  4. SelectDelete.

Software Updates & Backup

Master reset from the admin page

A master reset restores the original factory settings. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card.

  1. Access the hotspot WebUI Manager.
  2. SelectSettings> Device Settings.
  3. SelectDevice > Backup and Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
  4. SelectReset under Factory Reset.
  5. SelectConfirm.
  6. Wait a moment as the device is restored to the default settings.
  7. You will need to re-connect to the device with the default Wi-Fi login credentials.

Master reset with hardware keys

A master reset restores the original factory settings. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card. If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.

  1. Turn the device on.
  2. Insert a paperclip into the Factory Reset Pinhole.
  3. Press the Factory Reset Pinholefor 6 seconds and release. The device will reset and restart.

Software Update

The device automatically updates to the latest software version when it's available. There is no option to manually check for a software update.
