A group of streaming services, from Hulu + Live TV to Paramount+, offer free trials, making it easy for viewers to test out the platform before committing to a monthly subscription.
But if you’re searching how to watch, say, Dune: Part Two, the new season of Hacks, or old episodes of Game of Thrones before House of the Dragon returns, you have to pay to stream them on Max, since the streamer doesn’t provide a free trial before signing up on its app or website.
While you can’t technically score a free trial for Max, we found a few hacks that let you test it out without committing to a standalone subscription.

Get Max With Cricket Wireless
Another hack that gets you a free Max subscription? Cricket Wireless customers that have the provider’s $60/month Unlimited plan can get Max included. It’s one of the few ways you can currently get a Max plan without going directly with the streaming service. The Cricket Wireless promotion gets you the ad-supported version of Max.
How Much Is a Max Subscription?
Just want to pay for a Max plan on its own without going through one of the above options? A Max subscription starts at $9.99 a month, and $15.99 a month for the ad-free plan. If you want to save yourself a bit of extra cash, we recommend going for the annual plan, which starts at $99.99 for the year. A Max annual subscription ends up saving you as much as 20% compared to the monthly plans.
