Steam Support :: Steam Cloud. The Steam Cloud allows games and the platform to utilize cloud storage hosted by Steam. Games can utilize Steam Cloud for storage of many different types of data, including game settings, save games, profile stats and other user-specific bits.

Steam: Head to Steam > Settings > Cloud and make sure Enable Steam Cloud is enabled. You can also right-click any game, choose Properties, and ensure Keep games saves in the Steam Cloud for [game] is enabled under the General tab. Epic Games Store: Click your profile and then select Settings.

Right click on the game in your library, properties, general, and unmark the checkbox that disables Steam Cloud.
