If you are a fresh Steam user and have a Steam limited account, you can get rid of the limited account by:
- Adding the equivalent of $5 USD or more to your Steam Wallet.

Limited users are prevented from accessing several features on Steam. We've chosen to limit access to certain features as a means of protecting our users from those who abuse Steam for purposes such as spamming and phishing.
How do I turn off restricted mode on Steam? ›To remove Family View from your or your child's account:
- Exit Family View.
- Open the Steam Settings menu.
- Go to the "Family" tab on the left side of the window that opens.
- In the "Family View" section click "Manage" and select "Disable Family View" in the Family View window. Confirm your selection on the next window.
VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support. If a VAC ban is determined to have been issued incorrectly it will automatically be removed. If you wish to discuss Valve Anti-Cheat with the community, you may do so here.

Steam users by default are restricted from trading after account creation since new accounts are labeled as “Limited Users”. To remove this restriction, you need to spend at least 5 USD on Steam by purchasing a game or gift card or topping up your Steam wallet.

Merely purchasing the wallet funds and adding the code to your account won't remove it. You need to then spend at least $5 of the wallet funds on Steam in order to remove the Market restriction.
