Has stealth ever got stuck? ›

Occurrences are rare, and there is a braking system in place on the launch side of the track to safely bring the roller coaster back to a complete stop. However, rollbacks are safe, and all staff/engineers are trained to safely evacuate guests off the train.

Built in 2006 by Intamin, Stealth is very much the smaller cousin of Kingda Ka, the world's tallest ride.

Stealth opened for operation in 2006. It is a steel Accelerator Coaster, a model of hydraulically-launched roller coasters by Swiss manufacturer Intamin, that accelerates to 80 miles per hour in 1.9 seconds, reaching a height of 62.5 meters (205 feet).

The title of the country's fastest rollercoaster, meanwhile, is currently held by Stealth at Thorpe Park.

In 2006, a similar launched roller coaster opened at Thorpe Park, called Stealth. It is also manufactured by Intamin and is faster than Rita, reaching speeds at 80 mph (130 km/h).

Red Force is by far the taller and faster of the two, standing at 367ft tall and reaching 112mph compared to 205ft and 80mph for Stealth.

Changes in speed are expressed in multiples of gravitational acceleration, or 'G'. Most of us can withstand up to 4-6G. Fighter pilots can manage up to about 9G for a second or two. But sustained G-forces of even 6G would be fatal.
