There is good news for all Social Security beneficiaries for the last week of February, as there will be three different payment schedules converging this week. The triple payment will be for those who receive SSDI, SSI, or retirement benefits. Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Social Security Retirement Benefits are the three forms of financial support provided by the Social Security Administration (SSA).
While SSI program provides monthly payments to people with low income and resources, SSDI provides monthly benefits to disabled individuals with job credits and disabilities. Even though SSI provides retired workers with sufficient work credits with monthly benefits, it is based on a means-tested assessment of assets and income. Understanding these programs is crucial because they differ in their objectives and prerequisites.
Social Security’s complete mailing schedule in February
Every month, not every SSA beneficiary receives their payment on the same day. When a claimant is paid depends on the type of benefit they receive, their birthdate, and their place of residence.
Benefits are paid in the month following the month in which they are due. For example, you would get your July benefit in August. In general, the day of the month you receive your benefit payment is determined by the birth date of the person whose earnings record shows you are receiving benefits.
The SSA uses your birthdate as the basis for your benefit payment date if you are a retired worker. Additionally, they will use your spouse’s birthdate as the basis for your benefit payment date if you receive benefits from their job.
The following dates show when Social Security benefits for February 2024 are expected to be paid:
- February 2: Beneficiaries who started receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997 or who receive both Social Security and SSI will receive their payments on this date.
- February 14: If your birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of the month, you will receive your payment on the second Wednesday.
- February 21: If your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th of the month, you will receive your payment on the third Wednesday.
- February 28: If your birthday falls between the 21st and 31st of the month, you will receive your payment on the fourth Wednesday.

If your estimated earnings change

When you plan to relocate, please notify the SSA as soon as you know your new address and phone number. To update your Social Security address and phone number, contact your personal my Social Security account or call 1-800-772-1213. If you move with family members, inform them and file a change of address with your post office. Failure to do so will result in benefits being stopped.
If you change direct deposit accounts
To change your direct deposit information, use your personal my Social Security account or call us after confirming your identity. Keep your new and old bank account numbers handy, and close your old account after depositing Social Security benefits.
If you get married or divorced
Depending on the kind of benefits you receive, getting married or divorced may have an impact on your Social Security benefits. If your benefits are discontinued due to marriage or remarriage, they may be resumed should the marriage dissolve.
